Food for Thought

I've become a bit of a connoisseur of food and restaurants over the years. Not in the traditional French way, where you judge jus by their consistency and the vegetables and meat by how long they haven't been cooked. I'm more of a taste person -- taste as in flavours, and taste as in style and atmosphere.

As an international journalist I have sampled food and restaurants the world over. There have been highs and lows. One experience combined both: an impromptu meal with the locals in Zambia where we "enjoyed" steak which looked and tasted like the sole of an elephant. Delicious, I lied. I promise not to lie here.
